Bevery Hills-based entertainment company LiveXLive is looking to take live concerts to the next level. In their attempt to expand viewer experience at events, they’ve announced that they are moving forward with “LiveZone.”
This new feature uses a model of ESPN’s SportsCenter provides to give up-to-the-minute updates, live from music festivals. You can see in the image above that the setup is similar to ESPN’s “Gameday.”
The design intends for LiveZone to be an on-site music show that provides pre- and post-show coverage. In addition, it will offer live interviews with artists, managers, attendees, and more. The hope is to create an immersive experience that showcases the event’s music, culture, context and content. This is all in addition to providing live-streaming coverage of the main acts. LiveZone will broadcast from all over festival grounds: onstage, from the side stage, backstage, and even from the heart of the crowd.
This seems like the evolution of the broadcast Tomorrowland puts together each year. However, one key difference will be that LiveZone is a traveling setup, not centered around one specific event. LiveZone will see its inaugural show occur on Friday, December 14 at Los Angeles’ Rolling Loud Festival. The rap-based festival features acts such as Post Malone, Lil Wayne, Cardi B, Wiz Khalifa, and many more.
The first EDM-based event to feature LiveZone will be Decadence 2018 in Denver, CO on December 30-31. LiveXLive has also been affiliated with streaming EDC Las Vegas, Rock in Rio, and Hangout Music Festival. LiveZone appears poised to cover all genres of music.
When asked about the LiveZone experience, LiveXLive CEO and Chairman Rob Ellin had this to offer:
“MUSIC FESTIVALS ARE ABOUT MORE THAN ARTISTS PERFORMING ON STAGE. IN ADDITION TO OFFERING AN AUTHENTIC VOICE MUCH NEEDED IN MUSIC NEWS, LIVEZONE WILL OFFER MUSIC FANS A GUIDED AND CURATED FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE THAT WILL EXTEND BEYOND THE STAGE, PRESENTING THE DEEP COMMUNITIES AND CULTURAL PHENOMENA DISTINCT TO EACH MUSIC FESTIVAL’S GENRE OF MUSIC.”
