Hi I’m Ghost – Trip
A cute ghost, in-your-face-bass, and top notch production. What more could you possibly want? Well the up and coming bass duo Hi I’m Ghost has the answer to that question. And that answer is “nothing”. The duo has been stepping up their game over the past year and have been really earning the recognition they deserve for their killer productions. Just last month they dropped ‘Ghost Boogie‘ on Firepower Records. And now they’re here to drop their latest banger, ‘Trip‘.
The track opens up with a melodic intro but don’t let that fool you. The duo and their ghosty friend quickly turn it around and drop the track into some wonky, in-your-face bass. If you’ve been looking for something to turn up to, look no further. Give the track a listen and be sure to keep an eye out for their next otherworldly bass offering.

The single’s title is “Big Time.”
Earlier this year, EDM cool kid duo Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett graced the stage at the Winter X Games in Aspen. Performing since high school under their Louis the Child moniker, the pair have become representative of a generation of producers coming up in the post-Flume future bass world.
Now, they’ve made history as the first dance artist to pen an official theme song for the X Games. The track, titled “Big Time,” was released just weeks before the traveling extreme sports event graces Minneapolis in August.
“Louis The Child’s concert in Aspen brought a fun, high-energy performance that was a great match for X Games fans,” said the company’s president, Tim Reed. “We’re excited to be able to connect that same energy to our events, content and brand through the new X Games anthem.”
The track is characteristic of duo, featuring the group’s classic dance-driven production style and future bass sound. Samples from iconic X Games moments are layered against funky synths for a high-energy feel.
The pair are heading home to Chicago later this year for a Lollapalooza performance and after show. This summer has brought a number of worldwide festival appearances for the artists, along with a summer residency at KAOS in Las Vegas. Earlier this year, Louis the Child held a headlining slot at Ultra Music Festival and received a Gold Record certification for “Better Not,” a hit single from the group’s 2018 Kids at Play EP.

Tomorrowland just got even more stacked.
Among the rapid-fire slew of recent festival lineups, few have been watched as closely as Tomorrowland. The beloved Belgian music festival released its first round of artists yesterday, and today’s announcement reveals additional headline talent.
Today’s announcement entailed some of the biggest names in big room house: Martin Garrix, Nervo, Lost Frequencies, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and Robin Schulz. For those interested in deeper cuts, U.K. duo Camelphat and Claptone will be performing along with techno/house figureheads Solomun and Tale of Us. The rest of the announcement included Flux Pavilion, Oscar & the Wolf, Radical Redemption, Aly & Fila, Armand van Helden and Tomorrowland ambassadors Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike rounding out the lineup.
Tomorrowland consistently represents artists from all subgenres of electronic music, and the current state of their lineup speaks to that mission. Although the addition of A$AP Rocky to the lineup, revealed yesterday, seemed to throw fans for a loop, the festival doesn’t seem to be straying much from their primary electronic focus.
Check out the lineup reveal below, and stay tuned for more artists to be announced tomorrow, January 30th.

In the ongoing war on drugs, one of the best ways to protect people is to catch those responsible for transporting the narcotics in the first place. Today, an Irish DJ received his prison sentence. Unfortunately it wasn’t for playing mediocre tunes but for smuggling drugs into Australia.
Stephen Donnelly, 37, received a sentence of 6 years and 9 months in prison. The charges? For helping to smuggle ecstasy and cocaine in noodle containers.
It wasn’t just one noodle container worth of drugs either. As a matter of fact, Donnelly and three friends are responsible for nearly $700,000 worth of cocaine along with 5,000 MDMA tablets into Darwin, Australia. Police busted the three culprits last October. Reports say police intercepted one of the noodle packages that Donnelly requested to be picked up, resulting in their arrest.
“The message to drug traffickers is simple. Your business is not welcome here, and we will continue to use all resources available to dismantle your trade and bring you to justice.”- DECT SGT Stringer
In a hearing, Donnelly said “I totally accept, I am an absolute idiot”. Obviously he wished he just stayed with music. Thankfully, police were able to get the drugs off the street, likely saving many lives in the process. Law enforcement officials constantly work hard to track illegal drugs before they hit the public streets.
