Italy’s Home Festival was forced to cancel headlining performances from artists like Aphex Twin, Pusha T, and more due to safety concerns.
Home Festival in Venice, Italy recently announced the cancellation of many of the headlining acts for next month’s outing. The artists who were canceled are Aphex Twin, Jon Hopkins, Pusha T, Modeselektor, Moodymann, Adam Beyer, Mura Masa, and The Vaccines.
It’s reported that safety issues were what forced the cancelation of a significant portion of the headliners slated to play. In a post to their Facebook page, Home Festival officials announced the cancelation and provided resources for ticketholders to get additional information.
In their own words (translated from Italian):
“Due to the failure to install a stage due to security issues, after careful consideration with the band management and after several technical rounds, the organization communicates that, among the over 100 artists provided, some will not be able to perform. Here they are: APHEX TWIN, JON HOPKINS, PUSHA-T, MODESELEKTOR, MOODYMANN, ADAM BEYER, MURA MASA, THE VACCINES.
Home apologizes for the inconvenience with the fans of the canceled artists. A dedicated line has been activated for any information, questions or requests. These are the references: email@example.com or on the phone 366 2301378 at 10-13 and 15-19, from Monday to Friday.
The organization thus comments on the decision: “We are sorry for the inconvenience. The park has been affected by major refurbishment work to prepare the event, some just finished. For this reason we had to remodulate the area by erasing a stage. Safety has always been and will remain our priority. We apologize to the artists’ fans and to the artists themselves, whom we thank for their understanding and great collaboration.”
Home Festival takes place July 12th-14th at Parco San Giuliano in Venice, Italy. It will feature performances from Young Thug, Bloc Party, Paul Kalkbrenner, Editors, and more.
