Home Festival in Venice Cancels Headliners Aphex Twin, Adam Beyer, Pusha T, and More

Italy’s Home Festival was forced to cancel headlining performances from artists like Aphex Twin, Pusha T, and more due to safety concerns.

Home Festival in Venice, Italy recently announced the cancellation of many of the headlining acts for next month’s outing. The artists who were canceled are Aphex Twin, Jon Hopkins, Pusha T, Modeselektor, Moodymann, Adam Beyer, Mura Masa, and The Vaccines.

It’s reported that safety issues were what forced the cancelation of a significant portion of the headliners slated to play. In a post to their Facebook page, Home Festival officials announced the cancelation and provided resources for ticketholders to get additional information.

In their own words (translated from Italian):

“Due to the failure to install a stage due to security issues, after careful consideration with the band management and after several technical rounds, the organization communicates that, among the over 100 artists provided, some will not be able to perform. Here they are: APHEX TWIN, JON HOPKINS, PUSHA-T, MODESELEKTOR, MOODYMANN, ADAM BEYER, MURA MASA, THE VACCINES.

Home apologizes for the inconvenience with the fans of the canceled artists. A dedicated line has been activated for any information, questions or requests. These are the references: ticketing@homefestival.eu or on the phone 366 2301378 at 10-13 and 15-19, from Monday to Friday.

The organization thus comments on the decision: “We are sorry for the inconvenience. The park has been affected by major refurbishment work to prepare the event, some just finished. For this reason we had to remodulate the area by erasing a stage. Safety has always been and will remain our priority. We apologize to the artists’ fans and to the artists themselves, whom we thank for their understanding and great collaboration.”

Home Festival takes place July 12th-14th at Parco San Giuliano in Venice, Italy. It will feature performances from Young Thug, Bloc Party, Paul Kalkbrenner, Editors, and more.

Malaa Remixes DJ Snake and Sheck Wes' Hip-Hop Crossover "ENZO" Ft. Offset, 21 Savage & Gucci Mane

Malaa gave DJ Snake and Sheck Wes’ star-studded hip-hop crossover “ENZO” Ft. Offset, 21 Savage & Gucci Mane a dance floor boost with his latest remix.

Malaa just released a bouncing remix of DJ Snake and Sheck Wes‘ hip-hop crossover “ENZO” featuring Offset of Migos, 21 Savage, and Gucci Mane

In typical Malaa fashion, his “ENZO” remix features a pounding beat over a near-wobbling bass line. Due to the more dance-oriented nature of the tune, vocal sections of the track from 21 Savage and Gucci Mane have been removed.

The finished product is a polished, futuristic tune that gives the original recording a dance floor boost.

The anonymous producer recently joined forces with fellow French artists DJ Snake, Tchami and Mercer for their Pardon My French show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Last month, Malaa teamed up with up-and-coming producer JACKNIFE for their dark and bassy “Revolt,” released on DJ Snake’s Premiere Classe Records. DJ Snake has also stayed busy with the recent release of his “song of the summer,” “Loco Contigo” featuring J Balvin and Tyga

The Malaa remix of “ENZO” by DJ Snake & Sheck Wes Ft. Offset, 21 Savage, and Gucci Mane is out now. You can download or stream it here.

Stephen King Listened to ‘SELFIE’ & His Review Is Hilarious

Author extraordinaire Stephen King has sold more than 350 million copies of his beloved horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, science fiction, and fantasy novels.

His eerily descriptive wordings featured in his books captivate readers from across the globe. His personal Twitter account is, shockingly, just as entertaining…

In a recent post, the American author disclosed that he listened to The Chainsmokers chart-topping single ‘SELFIE‘; his overall review will surprise you.

SELFIE, by the Chainsmokers: it’s awful, but I like it. I feel sort of terrible about that, and sort of okay with it.

Stephen King stated.

Well, damn! Who knew that we’d have so much in common with a 71-year-old?!

If you haven’t already, toss a “follow” on his socials; mad respect to the King for telling it like it is when it comes to the 2014 classic EDM anthem.

Now that it’s been confirmed that King listens to dance music, we hope to see more honest reviews in the future. What song would you like for him to critique next?

Belgium’s VestiVille Festival is Fyre Festival: Europe

VestiVille Festival in Belgium was abruptly cancelled on Friday, the first day of the festival weekend. The event featured big names including Cardi B, A$AP Rocky, Future, Migos, Ja Rule and more. However, when festival attendees had arrived on camp grounds on Friday, the cancellation was announced last minute. Attendees reported being unable to leave campgrounds for hours and there were no food or water provided. Everything was hectic due to the disorganization and lack of communication.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Vestiville put out this statement to explain the situation:

https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v3.3

Today at 5:00 PM the mayor of Lommel decided to not let Vestiville start. After consultation with the security services…

Posted by Vestiville on Friday, June 28, 2019

On top of all the memes being created comparing Vestiville with Fyre Festival, some people also took to digging into the truth. Although it’s not yet confirmed whether the festival was a scam, it’s still important to look into the reliability of the producers as well as the people and companies behind events before attending. Oh yeah and JA RULE was booked to perform!

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

As if that wasn’t enough of comparison, look at this promo video for “Vestivillas” which sounds like a parody of Fyre Festival, complete with Cardi B impersonator.

People traveled far and wide for the promised lineup. On top of the ticket costs, they’ve spend lots of money for travel and housing. A part of what they paid for won’t be reimbursed. So hopefully VestiVille will at least refund to fans the costs related to the festival.

In light of everything that transpired at Fyre Fest and VestiVille, this is an important PSA to take note of:

Axwell Remixes Europa's "All Day And Night" ft. Madison Beer

Europa is the collaborative project between Martin Solveig and Jax Jones.

It’s been more than five years since the legendary producer Axwell has delivered a remix. The iconic member of Swedish House Mafia has come out of remix retirement to rework Europa‘s “All Day And Night” featuring Madison Beer. Europa is a collaboration between two internationally renowned titans, Martin Solveig, and Jax Jones. Since the original debuted in May, it has already amassed 60 million Spotify streams.

Axwell (real name Axel Hedfors) flips the original by turning up the bass and flipping on the progressive house beat we have come to know and love from the Swedish producer. Beer’s lush vocals are kept in the forefront delivering a catchy hook that will get fans belting. It’s a high-energy track that will make you want more remixes from Hedfors.

After a bonding experience in Ibiza, Solveig and Jones set out to form a new project. Solveig made the trip to Jones’ London studio and it was then that they realized that they had something special. From then on Europa was born.

“A huge common point for us is that we want people to have fun,” the pair explained. “Europa has allowed both of us to step out from what everybody else might consider reasonable. Music doesn’t have to be reasonable. You might even say it shouldn’t be.”

Axwell has been busy touring the world with his group Swedish House Mafia. They just delivered an incredible performance while down in Mexico. The fact that he hasn’t remixed since 2014 with the track “Tokyo By Night”  by Hook N’ Sling, is a testament to the power Europa is having on the EDM scene.

Europa Tour Dates
29th June Sunset Beach Festival, Germany
13th July Airbeat One Festival, Germany
16th July Ultra Beach, Croatia
21st July Tomorrowland, Belgium
10th August Boardmasters, UK
24th August SW4, UK
30th August Summerburst, Sweden

Borgore Drops Dark New Bass Music Single "Summerlake"

The music video is a mini horror film following three friends on a vacation gone wrong.

Borgore, one of the O.G. kings of Dubstep, is back to deliver some dark bass goodness in the form of “Summerlake.” This drop comes right in time before his performance at Shaq’s Bass All-Stars in D.C. and Insomniac’s Project Z festival in San Bernardino. Accompanying the single is a short horror film which reflects the scary insanity of the song.

Borgore (real name Yosef Asaf Borger) lays down the vocals for the ominous track. The pitch is low and sultry. His signature “Gorestep” stabs its way in with sharp screaming synths that make you feel like you are in fact living in a horror film. Heads will be banging to this all summer long.

The music video follows three friends, two of which who are soon to be unsuspecting victims. It follows the vibe of a classic ’80s slasher film. Three girls enter the cabin, only one comes out alive. If you are into blood and Pyscho-esque shower scenes, you’ll want to watch this.

The label chief of Buygore Records has always been known as one of the leading figures in dubstep. Borger is a classically trained producer, songwriter, and DJ who has never feared melding genres and melting faces.

He came into forefront back in 2009 with the release of his Ice Cream Mixtape and again in 2010 with Borgore Ruined Dubstep, Pt. 1 and 2. He has collaborated with the likes of Miley Cyrus, G-Eazy, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, and Diplo

Pav from Foreign Beggars Debuts Vulgatron Solo Project with New Single “Deadman”

“Deadman” produced by Markthebeast and Nitepun is out now via Never Say Die.

Longtime hip-hop, grime, and dubstep fans were upset after one of the most prolific groups in the community, Foreign Beggars, announced their split earlier this year in May. The group, which consists of four members, spent 17 years pioneering grime and blending together forms of hip-hop with bass music. Today, fans can rejoice as Pav (real name Pavan Mukhi), also known as Orifice Vulgatron, debuted his solo project Vulgatron with the new track “Deadman,” out now on Never Say Die

“Deadman” which was produced by Mark The Beast (real name Mark Evans) and Nitepunk (real name Lasha Mamulashvili), sets the bar high for new hip-hop and bass music to come. Mukhi’s amped-up energy paired with signature deep bass lines creates an atmosphere any bass music lover can appreciate.

The music video which accompanies the track was premiered by UKF and immediately grabbed the attention of fans within hours of its release. The video shows off exemplary special effects and over-the-top animations of Mukhi dressed in cyberpunk attire and rapping along to his song. Fans have commented showing support for his Vulgatron solo project, as well as expressing sadness over the Foreign Beggar’s split.

For fans who can’t get enough, “Deadman” was also remixed by Montreal DJ/Producer Krimer (real name Simon Bertrand). Bertrand takes a heavier bass approach, giving his own twist on the already dark, and unsettling track.

While his next move is not yet known, Mukhi has certainly made a standout impression with his first solo track as Vulgatron. He will make his last show appearance with Foreign Beggars at the end of 2019, which they have stated will be their last performance ever.

Steve Aoki Teams Up with Showtek and MAKJ to Drop "Rave" ft. Kris Kiss

Steve Aoki, MAKJ and Showtek charge headlong into the summer season with a fresh new “Rave” hit on Ultra Records.

Music is often said to be a universal language that brings everyone together, and the newest release from Ultra Records, “Rave,” perfectly demonstrates that idea. Produced by Steve Aoki, Dutch duo Showtek (real name Sjoerd and Wouter Janssen), and American DJ/Producer MAKJ (real name Mackenzie Johnson), it also features the vocals of London-based singer/songwriter Kris Kiss. “Rave” is the next go-to summer heater.

It comes as no surprise, given their impressive background of performing on some of the worlds largest festival stages, that these producers were able to create an uproarious crowd pleaser. “Rave” instills an undeniable main stage feeling with a moving beat and a crazy, amped-up pre-drop vocal.

The music video that accompanies the song truly embodies the track’s high-energy sound. Featuring all three producers, it shows a choreographed dance routine, as well as a small rave inside the back of a semi-truck.

We can expect to hear this new festival anthem at venues across the world as all three producers are currently touring. Fans of Steve Aoki can catch him on tour at upcoming festivals such as Barcelona Beach Festival, Electric Nation, and Tomorrowland. He will also perform in Las Vegas all summer for his Hakassan Nightclub residency.

Showtek will be taking the stage at Music Circus, Spectrum Festival, and Stereo Live. All tour information can be found here. MAKJ also has a couple of scheduled appearances for the summer season. For tour dates, visit here.

Benny Benassi and Lil Yachty Navigate the "Lonely Nights" with New Single

The song tackles mental health, loneliness, and finding support.

Benny Benassi‘s enlisted rapper Lil Yachty for a driving electro single “Lonely Nights.” This latest effort marks the Italian EDM superstar’s most recent hip-hop crossover effort. Previous originals have seen the “Cinema” producer team up with T-Pain in 2011, and more recently Chris Brown in 2016.

From a songwriting perspective, “Lonely Nights” tackles broad themes in the challenges of dealing with mental health issues. Ultimately, the message is to find support in true friends. Such is the theme of the track’s accompanying music video which takes a lighter approach to the single’s otherwise dark subject matter.

View the original article to see embedded media.

In the song’s music video directed by Robby Starbuck, Benny Benassi and Lil Yachty navigate the lonely nights quite literally as younger versions of themselves transition from racing soapbox cars to racing a Lamborghini and a Ferrari on the open road.
