One of the most renowned DJ’s in the world has just announced a ‘Strictly Techno’ set. Earlier today it was announced that Laidback Luke would perform a techno set to celebrate the ‘5 Years of Sound’ event at Sound Night Club in Los Angeles.
The event will take place on January 12, 2018 in one of the hottest up-and-coming night clubs in the country. Sound Night Club’s intimate and close atmosphere should make for quite the setting. And knowing Laidback Luke, he’ll have the perfect song selection for what should be an unforgettable night. So if you’re in LA that weekend, make sure to buy tickets and get 2018 started off right.

Everyone always gets a kick out of karaoke nights and some of our favorite producers are not opposed to grabbing the mic. Ryan Hemsworth tweeted out a video of himself happily bobbing his head as Skrillex serenaded him at a hardcore bar in Shibuya.
Hemsworth is currently touring Asia and after his show at Daikanyama Unit in Tokyo, made good use of his time to wander around the city. Nightlife in a bustling city like Tokyo is not to be missed and joining Hemsworth on his adventures was Skrillex. Making their way to a hardcore bar, Hemsworth reminded everyone of Skrillex’s roots as vocalist for post-hardcore band From First to Last with his Twitter video.
Captioned “forced Skrillex to serenade me at a hardcore bar in shibuya. enjoy.” the video shows Skrillex not so reluctantly with a mic, not so reluctantly reliving the days before he moved into electronic music.

Audio – Rat Race EP
Having been producing for almost two decades, Gareth Greenall, better known as Audio, is a verified veteran of the drum n bass realm. With his no-nonsense attitude and a hard-hitting style of producing to match, it’s no wonder that the South Londoner has released on esteemed labels including Virus Recordings, Blackout Music NL, and RAM Records. The last we heard from him he dropped his Beastmode LP on Ram. And now he’s here to drop his latest EP, Rat Race on Blackout.
“Like all my releases, this one represents what I was feeling at the time of creation. The EP is loud and smashy, with big riffs and a lot of energy.”
Audio kicks of the EP with ‘Fizziks‘. The track opens up with a eerie, unsettling vibe before the first drop kicks it into gear with some in-your-face synths and a solid bassline. For the next track, ‘The Crux‘, he changes things up a bit. Cutting back on the synths and having subtle drops he lets the core beat shine through. From there he follows it up with the eponymous track ‘Rat Race‘ before closing it all out with ‘Hypebeast‘. And what a track to end on. Distorted yet polished and wholly aggressive, this is definitely the kind of track that will make a building shake.
And from this varied EP, Audio makes two things very clear. First is his versatility and range as a producer. And second is his consistent ability to create a hard-hitting track that’ll get the dancefloor jumping.
