Avicii may have passed, but his legacy lives on.
When news broke of Avicii‘s passing earlier this year, it shook the music world and offered a rude awakening. Since his death, fans and the industry alike have made sure that his music will live on. In addition to all the awards he won throughout his lifetime, he has also posthumously won awards in the remainder of 2018.
Earlier this year he won the MTV Video Music Award (VMA) for “Lonely Together” which featured Rita Ora. From heart-touching tributes during DJ sets on the largest stages around the world to tribute tracks dedicated to him, they did it all. His website was also turned into a digital memorial through which his fans, friends and industry colleagues to leave notes and memories on “The Avicii Memory Board.”
The Swedish DJ and producer also rose in his ranks on this years DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s poll and landed at #15 spot – 13 places up from the previous year.
