Alesso is back and this time with a summer tune that will get you in your feels. After announcing that he was starting his acting career on Netflix show, Little Black Mirror, he finally broke silence and released a brand new tune.
Featuring vocals from TINI, this song is a story about two lovers. TINI is longing for her partner’s presence and makes it very clear in the lyrics. However, she realizes that it’s not for the best and she’s only being used. Either way, she can’t seem to stay away and still loves her partner.
Switching over to the music side of this song, it features a very chill and poppy melody that gives off some tropical house vibes, perfect for your summer activities. The drop transitions into a slow lead melody accompanied by the chorus vocals.
This track embodies the artist side of Alesso very well. If you blink for a second, you might miss that there’s hardly a buildup and it’s mostly just groovy music. This shows the growth of Alesso from once only being an EDM producer to being a musical artist. You can listen to it down below or here.

While we all felt a Swedish House Mafia reunion was inevitable, there was never a guarantee. Over 5 years apart, Steve Angello working on his solo career, Axwell/Ingrosso taking flight – the stars weren’t aligning. However, thanks to former manager Amy Thomson, we now have a little insight as to how the old band got back together.
Before her departure back in August 2018, Amy had one last rabbit to pull out of the hat. In her recent Instagram post, Thomson shares a candid story about the iconic Swedish trio. She details a moment one year ago today (Wednesday, November 28) where she received an early morning phone call from Ultra co-founder Adam Russakoff. Frequently getting calls from him too early in the morning, this one was different:
“COME ON, AMY…IT’S TIME.”
Time for the trio to reunite. Time for the world to see their brilliance again. Time to revive our way of life. From that moment on, the mission was clear – the Swedish House Mafia reunion will be at Ultra 2018.
It’s a short, but very cool post on the fickle nature of stardom. How one phone call can change everything. How people can be brought back from the brink, and thrust into a spotlight bigger than any of them could imagine. It reminds us how the line between fame and forgotten is so nuanced, all it takes is one little push to send you in either direction. How one phone call can Save The World (well, metaphorically).
Check out Thomson’s full post below, and expect a dose of chills while you’re at it.

Exactly a year ago today I was walking out my door to my car to the airport to fly to Sweden when @adamrussakoff called me and said come on Amy. It’s Time. And one week later it was agreed. Sat in a room where they had genuinely not seen each other for 5 years. Drinking coffee. 3 months later I was on that stage at 6am in a leather jacket testing lasers didn’t burn the back of them. We never got chance to test the fire would go that high except for one unit, but when it went off and those 3 friends who had not seen each other for 5 years were surrounded by fire which i think is the only photo which shows the booth was made from mirror. Which was symbolic for them and underneath it … it was engraved. (But what did it say 😉) This picture came from that phone call which as always was from Adam too early in the morning the fire idea came from a meeting where we all said for fucks sake. Let’s just burn the whole thing when no one could decide what to do. Turns out it was one of my favorite show moments ever. 🔥

Today’s the big day. Above & Beyond see the release of their fourth artist album, Common Ground. As fans around the world begin to celebrate and listen to the new album, Armin van Buuren and the people at A State of Trance helped celebrate the release of Common Ground by hosting Jono Grant of Above & Beyond to do a special one hour guest mix on their special ASOT 850 show.
During the ASOT 850 broadcast, Jono played a few tracks from the new album before coming on at the end of the show for the hour-long mix. During the first appearance, he only played originals from Common Ground. Jono started with ‘The Inconsistency Principle’, ‘Always’ featuring Zoe Johnston, ‘Is It Love? (1001)’ featuring Jono’s own vocals, and ‘Northern Soul’ featuring Richard Bedford.
Once Armin finished up the first two hours of the show, A&B returned for the final third hour. Here, Jono got a bit more creative with his song selection. He started the set off with Spencer Brown’s remix of ‘Northern Soul’. Then upped the tempo with ‘Chocolate’ by FATUM followed by Common Ground songs ‘Tightrope’, ‘My Own Hymn’, and the Ilan Bluestone remix of ‘We Are All We Need’.
It wouldn’t be a high energy Above & Beyond set without some new Anjunabeats tracks. You’ll hear a new Cosmic Gate remix of ‘The Only Road’ by Gabriel & Dresden, a new collaboration track from Kyau & Albert and Genix, and a brand new Sunny Lax banger. And to finish off the set, Oliver Smith’s fan favorite from ABGT 250 ‘Lovingly’.
If you’re planning on catching Above & Beyond on the Common Ground Tour, you should know that every ticket sold comes with a copy of Common Ground. You can catch A&B at Echostage in DC tonight and Barclays Center in Brooklyn tomorrow night. Common Ground is out today, and you can check out Above & Beyond’s special ASOT 850 guest mix below.

Heads up, Headliners! Insomniac just made future music festivals even better. The festively innovative company has long been a force to be reckoned with. Pasquale Rotella is a juggernaut that never sits idly by. His quick changes to EDC Las Vegas 2018 exemplify this adaptation to change in the music scene. And now it looks like virtual reality festivals may soon be on the horizon.
LiveXLive has partnered with Insomniac to enhance and potentially expand the ways in which music lovers experience Insomniac’s festivals. Their expertise in live video streaming, virtual reality, augmented reality, and video-on-demand make the perfect viewing platform for Insomniac’s staple of events.
“This collaboration with LiveXLive is a key part of our mission to expand…into key global markets,” said Rotella. The CEO has always been an advocate for looking through unique lens to experience everything this culture promotes. This experience will carry on into Asian, European, Latin American markets and beyond.
The five year partnership is set to launch with EDCLV and expand to include over 50 Insomniac events. Beyond Wonderland SoCal, HARD Summer, Nocturnal Wonderland, Escape, EDC Orlando, Dreamstate SoCal, and Countdown will be next.
Having the ability to tap into an immersive viewing experience from nearly any connected screen is huge. A landmark deal like this is game changing for the electronic dance music festival scene. To current and future festival goers alike, let’s get ready to take it to the next level.
