When the group was celebrating its ten years back in September 2018, front-man Diplo (real name Thomas Wesley Pentz Jr.) announced that Music Is The Weapon would be their last album, consisting of “a bunch of stuff you haven’t heard like that we made the last ten years.”

Back in September, Major Lazer released an Essentials mixtape featuring some of the group’s greatest hits, as well as a new collaboration with Swedish singer and songwriter Tove Lo. Other than their Africa Is The Future EP which was released around that time, the group has kept fairly silent in terms of new music. Diplo, however, has kept especially busy, supposedly working on the return of their famous animated TV series, and unveiling his new solo country project, Thomas Wesley, releasing “So Long” featuring vocals from Cam

SLANDER and Dylan Matthew are Back to Tug at Your Heartstrings with "Love Is Gone"

Check out the stunning visuals paired with this emotional track.

The fan-favorite duo SLANDER (real names Derek Andersen and Scott Land) are back with another collaboration with the vocalist Dylan Matthew. The three were last linked on the track “Hate Being Alone“, “First Time” featuring Seven Lions and “Without You” featuring Kayzo

This track is cinematic and they portrayed that feeling beautifully with the accompanying visuals. The stunning visuals show an astronaut drifting through space. This also happens to be SLANDER’s first ever music video. The euphoric melodies and piano chords work great with Matthews melancholic pop vocals. The track opens to a big bass build that keeps the energy from going stale.

The L.A.-based producers have been killing it since their track with NGHTMRE titled “Gud Vibrations” hit the scene. They followed that success by naming their record label after it. You can catch them live at Electric Zoo, Lost Lands, and Lollapalooza.

After a successful inaugural event, LiveStyle, Inc. has announced the return of All My Friends Music Festival to Downtown Los Angeles. Situated within The Row DTLA, the creative office space and shopping center will once again welcome thousands of fans of electronic music and hip-hop alike.

The festival made its debut last August and is the brainchild of Gary Richards (aka DESTRUCTO). After parting ways with HARD Events Richards partnered with LiveStyle, presenting a new music festival to the city of angels.

The unique setting, fixed upon tall warehouse buildings amid an industrial environment, positions the festival as a haven for the fans of the old-school underground vibes. Stationed on the outskirts of Downtown L.A.’s Arts District, the century-old collection of warehouse buildings have been repurposed and create a rare backdrop for dance festivals.

Last year’s debut brought out over 20,000 fans who were treated to acts like Chris Lake, RL GRIME, Gucci Mane, Jhene Aiko, M.I.A., Jamie XX, and Armand van Helden across three different stages. Avicii's Second Posthumous Single "Tough Love" ft. Agnes is Out Now

Avicii derived influence from Indian music when he came up with the “Tough Love” melody.

Avicii‘s family chose to honor his legacy by finishing up the final album he worked on after his death, and now the second single from the effort has arrived. Ahead of the release of Tim, they’ve shared a single titled “Tough Love” featuring Swedish singer Agnes that exhibits distinct influences from Indian music.

In contrast to the vaguely tropical melodies that characterized “SOS” featuring Aloe Blacc, “Tough Love” fuses worldly instrumentals with timeless, radio-ready vocals. In the accompanying music video, choreographed dancers show off their flair in a picturesque outdoor setting.

View the original article to see embedded media.

Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) collaborated with Vargas & Lagola (real names Vincent Pontare and Salem Al Fakir) on the single. According to a statement, “Tough Love” was roughly 80% complete when Bergling passed away. In his notes, he expressed a desire to enlist an actual couple to contribute a duet as the single’s topline. In order to do his vision justice, Pontare enlisted Agnes, to whom he is married, to sing opposite him.

All proceeds from Tim will be donated to the Tim Bergling Foundation. Bergling’s family launched the organization to coincide with the one-year anniversary of his death to further suicide and mental health awareness initiatives, among other things.

Avicii’s posthumous album Tim will arrive in full sometime in 2019.

Kill Paris Gets Down and Dirty with New Single, "Venus Fly Trap"

The trap-heavy heater, out May 9th, is available on Monstercat.

Kill Paris (real name Corey Baker) is unleashing track after track. The latest, called “Venus Fly Trap,” is available on Monstercat and comes only a few months after the release of his sophomore album, Galaxies Within Us, on Monstercat in February. The album included collaborations with FATHERDUDE and Big Gigantic.

“Venus Fly Trap” is an intense continuation of Baker’s transition to a heavier, trap-driven style. It departs from the lighter, chill wave style he previously favored in tracks including “where r u” and “Made of Time,” and in his remix of Illenium‘s “Only One.”

View the original article to see embedded media.

The track shows the artist’s versatility and ability to move between subgenres of electronic music. This was showcased on GWU, given the differences in style between tracks like “Random” and the Big G collab “Fizzy Lifting Drunk.”

This newest release uses growing intensity and a fast BPM to mount suspense before releasing into the first drop within its first 30 seconds. Kill Paris uses BPM to tell his story, making for a downright dirty use of synths and melody. The bass-centric theme of the song cuts in and out amid a campy synth background, contributing to the track’s overall aura of urgency.

Marshmello's "Imagine" Gets An Official Video

The video also teases Joytime III.

Marshmello‘s positivity kick continues with the brand new music video for “Imagine.” Released on 2018’s Joytime II album, “Imagine” was the final track on the release.

The video follows ‘Mello hard at work in his cubicle, among other office employees. Despite his best efforts, he doesn’t get “Artist Of The Month.” Working even harder and deep into the night, he slips into a dream of playing on festival stages and skateboarding with Skrillex, among many other flashbacks to previous Marshmello videos. Upon waking, he has the inspiration he needs, and gathers his work to present to the big boss. The big reveal at the end teases the next Marshmello album, Joytime III

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUweAQ38Ed8&w=560&h=315]

Aligning with the vision of Mello’s previous videos, the message is positivity. The caption on YouTube tells viewers, “This video is a reminder to work hard and imagine your dreams.” Marshmello has certainly been hard at work, and with Joytime III on the way, it seems he won’t be slowing down anytime soon.

There isn’t an official release date for the new album, but Mellogang will be delighted to know that it’s on its way.

Kaskade and Gorgon City Team Up for "Go Slow" ft. Roméo

Roméo provides soulful vocals for the new collaboration.

Perfectly merging their sounds and styles, Kaskade and Gorgon City have collaborated on a new single called “Go Slow.” Rising star Roméo of soul duo Farr provides the vocals on the track.

Both Kaskade and Gorgon City’s unique styles can be heard on “Go Slow.” The melodic and dreamy vocal sections sound similar to other more dance floor-oriented Kaskade tunes. After the drop, the single is precisely what you’d expect from Gorgon City: a funky and danceable bass line over a groovy house beat. Roméo’s verses provide a catchy and memorable melody that will undoubtedly remain stuck in the listener’s head. Fans of any of the featured artists will be ecstatic to hear this collaboration.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qngp4ZMVXAQ&w=560&h=315]

“Go Slow” follows Gorgon City’s recent hits “Lick Shot” and “Delicious,” and the British duo’s recent sold-out shows in both the U.K. and the U.S. Kaskade is fresh off of a few new releases as well, with “Tight” and “Love Me Like You Used To” being released earlier this year.
