First Look At New Swedish House Mafia Stage In Stockholm

First Look At New Swedish House Mafia Stage In Stockholm

The Swedish House Mafia reunion tour is set to begin this Thursday. All the hype over the last year is finally set to culminate in Stockholm. The Swedish trio will also be debuting a new stage for all of its excited fans. Although from the pictures you can’t exactly see the three iconic dots, you can expect them to be there.

One of the photos shows how big these lights are going to be. Tele2 Arena Stockholm is set to have quite the show. These pictures of the stage were luckily posted by a Reddit user. The photos are of course in black and white adding to the anticipation of the show. We can only imagine how amazing it is going to look in two days.

The stage looks to have two big rectangular LED walls. In addition, we may even get three circles in the middle of them. It is very similar design to their massive appearance at Ultra Miami last year.

SAS Pilot Strike May Keep Thousands from Seeing Swedish House Mafia

Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia has called upon Scandinavian Airlines to “take care of [their] business.”

The first few dates of Swedish House Mafia‘s momentous 2019 reunion tour are approaching quickly, but thousands of ticket holders may not be able to partake in the festivities. In light of the Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) pilot strike, 35,000 attendee hopefuls of the legendary supergroup’s Stockholm shows may not be able to enter the country.

Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia brought the issue to light with a statement posted to his Instagram Story. “35,000 out of 120,000 tickets sold for our upcoming 3 stadium shows in Stockholm this upcoming weekend are from abroad or traveling domestic,” he wrote, “so I would appreciate if you could take care of your business with your pilots and staff.”

The pilots’ strike began on Friday after the SAS Pilot Group‘s discussions with the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise failed to arrive at a compromise. Among other things, the pilots had called for more predictable hours and higher wages.

Swedish House Mafia are still slated to perform at the tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden from May 2nd-4th, 2019. An up-to-date cancellation record for Scandinavian Airlines System flights can be found here.

Moby Admits He Committed Lewd Acts Against Donald Trump

Moby, also known as Richard Melville Hall, has revealed an incident involving President Donald Trump, that we really wish we could unhear. The American producer and DJ, has been fairly active on social media, showing his discontent for President Trump. He even went as far to say that he’d move to Canada if President Trump won re-election in 2020. We’re giving a preemptive warning, the event Moby described, is a bit disturbing.

“I think I knob-touched Donald Trump.”

In his new memoir, Then It Fell Apart, Moby admits that while at a party back in 2001, he had brushed his penis on Donald Trump. Yes, it was intentional as Moby stated he and his drunk friends were bored. Trump, at the time, was working in real-estate and likely had no idea what Moby had done, even to this day. Here’s a snippet from Moby’s memoir, describing the event in his words:

“I drank a shot of vodka to brace myself, pulled my flaccid penis out of my pants, and casually walked past Trump, trying to brush the edge of his jacket with my penis. Luckily he didn’t seem to notice or even twitch.”

We’re not sure why Moby thought it was a good idea to brag about what seems to be sexual assault but then again, at least he’s open to moving to Canada. Also worth noting, there doesn’t seem to be any regret from the artist, as it sounds like he’d do it again if he could go back in time. Lastly, if you’re interested in learning more, Moby’s memoir releases next week.

Holy Ship! Announces Land-Based Shipwrecked Event Brand

Holy Ship! is setting its sights on the shore.

The organizers of one of EDM’s favorite cruise ship festival brands appear to be changing the experience they offer on a fundamental level. Despite its brand name, Holy Ship! will ditch seafaring vessels for the debut of a new event brand called Shipwrecked.

Holy Ship!’s organizers took a notably longer time to announce the dates of the 2020 sailings than usual – perhaps owing to the logistical hurdles of bringing next year’s edition to land. Coming to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the five-day gathering will now feature an open bar, several complimentary dining options, and round-the-clock room service.

In 2017 Gary Richards was pushed out of his role heading up HARD Events (the parent company of Holy Ship!) by Live Nation. He went to work for EDM conglomerate LiveStyle, and in early 2018 he announced the debut of a new cruise ship festival called Friendship, which debuted this year.

The debut of Holy Ship!’s Shipwrecked event brand will run from January 22nd-26th, 2020. Pre-booking begins at 1:00 PM EST on May 3rd.

Watch the Swedish Army Pay Tribute to Avicii by Playing a Medley of His Music

The Beridna Högvakten and Livgardets Dragonmusikkår performed three Avicii songs in front of the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

Even more than a year after his death, Avicii‘s absence is sorely felt – and his impact extends beyond the EDM community. Case in point: The Swedish Army’s Beridna Högvakten (Berid High Guard) and Livgardets Dragonmusikkår (Life Guards’ Dragoon Music Corps) recently joined up to perform a medley of the late producer’s most popular music.

The mobile troops, who each specialize in ceremonial activities and parades, convened in front of the Royal Palace in Stockholm. As can be seen in the below recording, they started with a rendition of “Without You,” transitioned into “Hey Brother” and then wrapped up with “Wake Me Up.”

Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) was found dead on April 20th of last year in Muscat, Oman. His cause of death was later determined to be a suicide, prompting his family to announce the launch of the Tim Bergling Foundation, an organization that supports suicide prevention and other mental health initiatives, to coincide with the anniversary of his passing.

Avicii’s final album, Tim, is also due out sometime this year. In the meantime, listen to its lead single, “SOS” featuring Aloe Blacc, here.

Michael Lang Insists Woodstock 50 Is Still Happening

One of the most talked about topics this year is whether or not Woodstock‘s highly anticipated 50th anniversary festival will actually happen.

Michael Lang, co-creator of the Woodstock Music & Art Festival in 1969, claims that the festival will still be taking place despite numerous hiccups. He says that “it’s going to be a blast.”

Lang, a longtime concert promoter, recently released a statement confirming that he and Woodstock LLC were “committed to ensuring that the 50th anniversary of Woodstock is marked with a festival deserving of its iconic name and place in American history and culture.”

The hardworking team behind the festival has undergone several bumps in the road. This has included a hold on ticket sales, performers leaked ahead of the lineup announcement, and, more shockingly, a major financial investor dropping out of the event.

“Despite our tremendous investment of time, effort and commitment, we don’t believe the production of the festival can be executed as an event worthy of the Woodstock Brand name while also ensuring the health and safety of the artists, partners and attendees,” Dentsu Aegis Network’s Amplifi Live said in a statement.

You can read the full statement from Lang and his team below.
